Centrally located in the Brooklyn borough near Queens and the East River, Williamsburg is well-connected to the New York tri-state area with access to three subway lines. The neighborhood boasts a strong local art community coupled with an indie rock and a hipster culture. It is also known for several ethnic communities including Hasidic Jew (South Williamsburg), Polish (North Williamsburg), Puerto Rican (East Williamsburg and Broadway), Israeli (North Williamsburg), and Italian (between Grand Street, the BQE and Newton Creek).

Over the past several years, new real estate developments have started to redefine and evolve the neighborhood. Real estate options include unique lofts converted from former warehouses as well as newer high-rise condominium developments.
